Microsoft has
admitted to Paul Thurrott that the "third party app" which has been responsible for
mysterious data leakage on Windows Phone 7 is, in fact, Yahoo! Mail. The admission came only hours after Rafael Rivera had already
proved this to be the case. Rivera noted that Yahoo! was transmitting about 25 times more data than it needed to. Yikes.
Microsoft originally reported that this issue affected only a small number of WP7 users. We're inclined to agree with
LiveSide that the number must be
really small in the grand scheme of things, considering Windows Mobile devices
outsold Windows Phone 7 devices last quarter.
